Ironbridge International Institute for Cultural Heritage

IIICH is a partnership formed over 30 years ago between the University of Birmingham and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust (IGMT) which manages the World Heritage Site and ten museums in Shropshire, UK. Both organisations share a commitment to quality research, innovative education, creativity and engagement with the international heritage sector and the wider public.

IIICH offers MA in World Heritage Studies and in International Heritage Management
Distance Learning programmes include MA in International Heritage Management and PhD in Cultural Heritage.


Centre for West Midlands History

The Centre for West Midlands History was founded at the University of Birmingham to create a forum for research into and study of the history of the region.

The Centre runs a Masters degree in West Midlands History, an annual conference, day schools and other public events. It provides support for projects and works with heritage professionals and independent scholars in the wider community. The Friends of the Centre for West Midlands History is another initiative.

Staffordshire University

Centre of Archaeology

The Centre of Archaeology is part of Staffordshire University’s Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Sciences. It offers a range of postgraduate qualifications in archaeology.
The University also offers undergraduate courses which include archaeological topics.
