Council for British Archaeology (CBA)
The Council for British Archaeology (CBA) helps people to experience and take part in archaeology through their network of groups and members. They run the Young Archaeologists’ Clubs for young people aged 8-16 and the annual Festival of Archaeology to encourage everyone to discover the places and spaces around them.
Founded in 1944, CBA champion and help safeguard archaeology and public participation. As the voice of archaeology in the UK they bring together community groups, commercial units, academics and heritage organisations to create and share opportunities to discover, take part and be inspired by archaeology.

CBA Groups
The Council for British Archaeology works with eleven local CBA groups in England and Wales, and in Scotland with their sister organisation, Archaeology Scotland.
Groups carry out a range of activities at a local level: providing advice and information about archaeology in each area, promoting participation, offering guidance on best practice, and getting involved in safeguarding heritage in their area.
